Mackabees NOV Pad™ – Natural Hive Humidity Control

The NOV Pad™, invented by Mackabees beekeeper Tom, is a simple but powerful tool designed to help beekeepers fight one of the biggest threats to modern hives: Varroa mites.

Varroa mites reproduce most efficiently in low moisture hive conditions. The NOV Pad™ works by gently increasing humidity inside the hive, creating an environment that makes it significantly more difficult for varroa mites to reproduce while remaining safe for bees. By helping shift the hive’s internal conditions so the female mite will not reproduce and enter into a cell before the cell being capped. The NOV Pad™ supports healthier colonies without harsh chemicals or complicated treatments.

Developed through real-world beekeeping experience in Cincinnati, Ohio, the NOV Pad™ was created to give beekeepers a practical, low-effort way to support hive health while maintaining a more natural approach to mite management.
